Inspection Copy

As a service to professors, many academic publishers make titles available to professors free of charge, provided you consider using the book in your lectures. To do this, check the publisher's website and search for 'docentexemplaar' for a Dutch book or 'inspection copy' at the website of a foreign publisher.

To get a free copy, the publisher often requests some details such as:

Some basic details about the course you are using or plan to use the book at.

The address of your institution.

Also keep in mind that free copies are limited to a few copies, and you can only exceptionally request multiple copies, for a number of working group members for example. And sometimes an e-book is made available, and you have to make a special request for a printed copy.
